A family tradition that we've kept for 3 years is to spend Spring Break in Utah. Our favorite place to ski is Alta! It's great! Mostly locals, small classes, great teachers and awesome powder.

Kennedy in class and Lauren and I on the slopes! She's a great skier! Fast and Furious(stay out of her way)! I witnessed her and Chase crashing this year and laughed until I cried. The kind of crash where feet and ski's and poles go flying.

While we were in Utah I was able to see my Aunt Di and Uncle Bob. My second parents!! Absolutely adore them!

This year we went tothe cabin for Valentines. We took our good friends the Breinholt family. We woke up to fresh snow the next morning and had a ton of fun!

This has been a great Basketball year for Chase. During the Spring season his team were the champions for the East Valley YMCA. The played the championship game against the West Valley on The Suns Court! This was a dream come true for Chase. He's been playing Club Basketball for 3 years (year-round). He has grown so much this year and we are so proud of him!

It has been great having Season tickets to the Sun games. Chase is always eager to go or will stay up late to see a game. If we go to the game with him we're not allowed to leave early. We are almost always the last ones there so he can shoot hoops. It's going to be fun watching him grow in this sport!

It's been a long time since I've blogged. I've felt really guilty! It's something I really enjoy doing. But, the last few months I've been in survival mode. I knew if I spent the time trying to catch up. It would take me away from doing the things that really needed to be done. Sometimes life comes at you so fast! The call of being a mother never ends. There are always things that need to be done and places you need to be. Sometimes we just can't do it all! I'm so grateful for my sweet family. Thanks for putting up with me! I love you!

I'm so glad that there is a holiday after Christmas. I always feel so depressed when I take Christmas decorations down. I love Valentines!

This year we had the kids fill out hearts for Family Home Evening...these were my favorites.

Tonight the kids made their Valentines for their friends.

I love Kennedy's concentration(tongue out).

Chase seemed pretty bored with the whole idea (except candy).

I don't think he would mind excluding the girls in his class...

I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Tuck just wanted in on the action. So he's showing off his pj's he's worn all day.

I love wrapping presents for the kids. I love going thru my ribbon and finding little trinkets to decorate the packages.

Ski Utah!!! or ???

So we went on our annual ski trip this year... I'm beginning to think that I'm too old for this!

I love VISITING Utah in the winter and really enjoy skiing. But, this year I felt like the biggest chicken EvEr! I'm going to be 39 this year and I'm the oldest(shhh) of the girls...and I sucked!(excuse my language) But, it is what it is...

The first day we skied Park City. It was great except for the sound of snowboarders. (sorry Pearce's and Lewis')But, it's true...

The next day we skied Deer Valley with the Huish's. It was awesome we had new powder, Deer Valley is definitely the way to go! Christina spent so much time waiting for me...thanks you are a true friend. I honestly don't know what happened to me this trip. I must have used my quota for fearlessness in my teenage years.

We ended our trip at our favorite restaurant. Market Street Grill...well 2nd favorite because The Italian Place is the bomb.

OKKKAY already! I've been thinking about these pictures all week. TWO WEEKS! Man do I love this man with all my heart! I just realized that I have his eyes! I'm almost 40 and I just figured this out ...Pathetic...

This is my Grandpa...he was my Christmas my everything growing up.....(my mom is sooo lucky). If you don't know me i have a very SMALL family and you can see it in my name! First, is my Aunt Di who is my second MOM and I truly love her like a mom. She is AMAZING beautiful on the outside and within. I remember when I was little sitting at her desk in her office and watching her. She had the most beautiful handwriting...so I'm trying to copy her and hope I'm following her example in being a WONDERFUL MOM!!!(trying, Aunt Di).
This is my middle name Patrice, she has blessed our lives in ways you can not even imagine. My Mom came to town and we went to the training center in Randolf. Trici had her annual evaluation. We have been so blessed to have her in our lives. I Really need to see her more and that is my New Years Resolution!

Trici can't really do anything for herself but' she has wonderful nurses and Dr.s that help her. Some have been at Randolf for decades(amazing people).

But, every time we visit her she knows us and feels our love. You can see that when she buries her sweet head in her dad! My dear SWEET grandpa! XOXOXO love you,di

Tucker and the TERRIBLE 2's...

Last week was a very busy week for this little man that owns my heart. How could this cute blue eyed kid who is almost always happy find so much trouble? Heaven Help ME!!!

His favorite place to be is WHEREVER his daddy is (and eating)...

This is what his face looks like most of the day no matter how many times I wash it. I swear he's like a little sponge that soaks up dirt. He goes outside and will collect rocks in his pockets and sand in his shoes and diaper! How he does it so quickly... I don't know

He eats, sleeps, and dreams about CARS! Our family has memorized the car movie. I've tortured the whole family playing it so much. Sorry kids! He loves saying "KER-CHOWWW".

This week he climbed on the counter and drank a half of bottle of Tylenol right before church. His pediatrician said he would have to drink two bottles for me to get real worried. He did act really wacky at church!

Then, later that week I left someone in charge of him(which I won't name) DAD! Tuck found my make-up bag and sitting on my brand new couch painted himself with nail polish. Noel was on the other couch. Thank heaven he didn't drink it!

Man do I love this little guy...He will call my name thru the house MoM MoM... and I holler to him "what Tucker?" he always responds "I right here!". Like, I should be worried about what he's into(and I'm very worried).

So I know I'm going a little crazy! But, I got a new CAMERA for Christmas! This is the first picture I took. I Love it. Thanks Honey!

So this year I decided not to stress out and worry about my Christmas decorations and tree coming down. But, to just try and enjoy Christmas break with my kids. So, Noel took the older kids skiing up North and Kennedy, Tuck and I just played at home with friends! It was great!

We had a great time with Sadie and Macy. It doesn't get better than Friends, Swimming and Crafts! The next day we had Ryder over and it finally looks like Fall in Arizona. But, wait were in January!!!

I had a great time with those great kids...Kennedy and I woke up early one morning and watched a meteor shower. It was amazing and she had a million questions. Having teenagers are a ton of fun and I can't wait until all of my kids reach that point. Let's face it...it is more complicated. So I really appreciated my alone time with these sweet easy to please wonderful kids. I love being their MOM!

I'm feeling the need to ramble a a little bit. I have been laying in bed wide awake trying to go back to sleep and I keep seeing this picture and my mind is spinning full of thoughts. I know it sounds crazy! So here it goes.. I took this picture on our drive home from the cabin a couple of weeks ago. Looking at an Arizona sunset always fills my heart with so many things. First being how grateful I 'am to live here! Second, my grandparents... My sister and I spent many summers visiting them and I remember sitting on the back porch watching the sunset with them. I'd like to think they are one of the reasons we moved here(other than finding a job). I've always felt a little slided that I didn't get more time with my grandmother. When we moved here she was extremely sick with cancer and died soon after. I'm very grateful for the tender moments we had while she was sick and I could take care of her. My grandparents have always been a constant in my life. They were our Christmas, there for every holiday and every event no matter where we were living (I moved 14 times before I graduated High School). My grandmother could sew or make anything and was always humming or singing a tune while she worked. She had experiences in her life that were extremely heart wrenching that shaped her and made her the woman that I loved. My grandfather (Que) is the kind of man that I wanted to find and marry someday(I did). I'm so grateful for the example they have set for me. My grandmother taught me so much and looking back she still does. My grandfather, I don't get to see as often as I'd like but, he's remarried to a wonderful woman Flora who loves him and takes good care of him. I'm very thankful for that..
Okay.. I'm losing it I know! But, I just re-read this and it reminds me of the quote I have in my kitchen. " The tender mercies of the Lord are real. They do not occur randomly or by coincidence." David A. Bednar

Christmas Tradition

I love the tradition we have to visit the temple lights. It always gives me a chance to slow down and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. It's so easy to get caught up in all of the "fluff" of the season. The list of things to do and parties to come seem to never end. It was so nice just to slow down and visit the temple with my sweet family.

This last September we went on one of my favorite vacations to Lake Powell(better than Maui in my book). It was our first adult trip with no kids to one of the most beautiful places on earth! I honestly don't feel like I can move on if I don't share our Thanksgiving. I feel like I have been stuck this week in November and today is December 3rd. We had a great week at our cabin in Show Low. Kennedy celebrated her 6Th Birthday and we blew candles on her cake at least 6 times everyone needed a turn.

We took this before Thanksgiving Dinner it was before noon and everyone was starving. Tuck refused to look at the camera because it was snowing!

Kennedy's much anticipated 6th Birthday!

So tomorrow my little Miss Kennedy turns 6! Wow how time flies. She is the most delightful child. I'm sure you are thinking "ya right" I've heard that before. But, you don't know her. On her 3rd Birthday she wanted a Bra and Belt (the sparkly kippy belt). Every year her party must include boys! (B/C of her sweetest friend Ryder) This year she told me"No princess stuff". She wants new grown up bedding and new paint in her room. She wants a pink tent for the back yard.....So with Kennedy no tea-parties, no dress-ups(that box is dusty)and no barbies. Oh well, I got my fix with Lauren. Thank Heaven our sweet little children who are so very different.

"Big Wheels" are a Huge hit at our house! The kids can't get enough of them. They spend hours and hours in the backyard and at the park with them. I think Tuck would sleep with his. Who would have thought that this cheap toy would bring sooo much joy! Thanks Kris!

Noel and I just got home from a little weekend get away in Palm Springs. It was so nice to get out of town and have some time together (to actually talk). The weather, JW Marriott, and the company were perfect. Noel is always so great to take me away. This last August we went to Aruba to celebrate our 15 year Anniversary. It was beautiful! Thanks Honey! I'm married to an amazing man...he's so good to me and our children. My heart is so full of love for him. He's so patient, kind, forgiving, honest and I'm a lucky..lucky girl..........

Okay, first of all this is my favorite little man in the whole world.

But, on Sunday I was so embarrassed! During Fast and Testimony Meeting Tucker found his way to the stage and just walked around like he was on parade. It wouldn't have been so bad but we had a full house and the Bishop's wife was bearing her testimony!

It took me a second to figure out what the heck she was talking about? Then she says "Do I have butt (buck) teeth like Chase?". We had a great laugh over that one. Pumpkins and Prop 102

I love being a mom! We had a great time picking out pumpkins. Lauren had to find the best and biggest. I don't know where she gets that from. haha! Chase had to be different, he picked out a small white one. I think he remembers how much work it is to clean the pumpkin out. Kennedy was completely overwhelmed! She could not make up her mind. Tucker was crazy as usual. He manhandled, stood and climbed on every pumpkin he could get his hands on! The ones he could pick up he would throw, I think he expected them to bounce. I guess they are the same color as a Basketball. That does make sense! Anyway, we had a great time.
Last night I got a message that some friends need help passing out fliers for Prop 102. I'm praying that passes!!! When I got home from that Kennedy made me this sweet note. I couldn't help but post it! That little girl brings me so much sunshine!! I'm so thankful for my sweet children. I'm so lucky to be their mom. It's these notes and the little things that remind me how much I love it.

It was nice to be home this weekend. I feel like we have been gone a lot. The weather was AWESOME! So was the Basketball game and the company(Lewis Family).

Chase had a big game today. He played GREAT! The reason it was such a great game for all of us was because we have played this team about 10 times the last couple of years. They are a good but extremely aggresive. So we were thrilled to lead the game the entire time and Win!

They spend a lot of time scrapping over the ball. Alec is always there to give Chase a hand. They are good little friends.

This is my favorite time of the day!!! Sometimes it's total chaos. But, there's nothing better than sweet clean kids. Of course.... it never lasts for long. But, I know these bath and bed times that are mine right now don't last forever. They will not always need me so much...

What a great weekend! I wish we didn't have to come home! But, back to reality...and laundry, grocery shopping, dishes and school schedules. But, we did have a lot of fun! The kids spent most of their time fixing and painting the fort. Noel was busy setting up a quad trail and making improvements on the fort. The Baker family was there with us most of the weekend. We had a great time getting to know them better. It really feels like its fall up in Show Low. I can't wait till we can go up there again!

Lauren turned 13yrs old this last week! I took some of her friends up to the cabin for the night and we had a great time. We went out to dinner, watched a scary movie and played hide-n-seek in the dark. Which was interesting because every one was chicken to hide alone. We also played chubby bunny . I can't believe Lauren put 13 marshmallows in her mouth! Way to go Lauren!!! It was fun for me to get to know Lauren's friends(and get away).

It's hard to believe I've been married for 15 years(and I'm almost 40 shhhhh). Time goes so fast. I feel so blessed to be married to my best friend(and partner in crime and the MOST patient man I know). We have four really great kids(that I hope I don't screw up). Who are all so completely different, wonderful and complicated. It is my hope that by keeping this journal I can keep better track of our comings and goings as a family. Here's our baby Tucker! I have no idea how Shawni got pictures of him because he was being CRAZY! He brings so much joy to our life. You know that song by Jason Mraz "I'm Yours". That's exactly how I feel about Tuck. Something like.... "No need to complicate our time....I'm yours....scooch on over closer dear let me nibble on your ear...I'm yours"..that's exactly how i feel about this little man. He melts my heart and makes me all gooey inside(it's pathetic). Maybe, it's something about being the baby. He can do no wrong and everything is adorable? For example...I'm taking these parenting classes and I can't bring my self to put him in time out in his room...Another thing about Tuck is he's almost always happy(unless he's hungry). He is friendly to everyone including complete strangers. He absolutely adores his big Bro! Chase was his second word. Gotta Love it.

This is my baby girl! Never have i met a child that is sooo imaginative and happy! She is so well balanced (I can't believe she belongs to me). Kennedy, NEVER has a bad day and I can honestly say that! She also speaks her mind (ask me about my dudes and crinkles). From the day she was born she has been the same. For example, my friend that took these pictures out of the 140 or so NOT one bad one of Kennedy! I think that speaks volumes. Kennedy loves being girly... but, her best friend is a boy(Ryder). She had a hard time deciding what to be for Halloween. A blue Power Ranger or a 70's Peace Chick! I Love every moment with her! I miss her so much at home, now that she's in Kindergarten.

Chase is 9. Oh, What I love about Chase! I've never seen a cleaner more organized kid. Every Lego figure in his room has it's place(which he asks me not to move when I dust). He's Loves Basketball and wishes he could play club ball everyday(a dad's dream). I'm sure that will consume a lot of our time in the year's to come. But, for now I enjoy watching him grow. He loves his many friends. Everyone gets along with Chase. He's quiet and I probably shouldn't say this but, he has a tender heart. Every mom's dream!

This is Lauren, she's almost 13 (going on 18). She's amazing to me. I was never so put together at this age. If this is the awkward age? Look out World! She started Jr. High this fall. It was no big deal for her. I think I was more of a mess. She must get that from her dad. Lauren's a lot of fun. She loves her friends, her phone, the computer, boys and family (most of the time). I don't know what I would do without her. I know it's a huge responsibility to be the oldest and probably not the most fun (trial and error). She's doing great and I love her so much!
